Downtown Update

Downtown Update from Brad Curtis – July 2nd

FORT MORGAN DOWNTOWN INFRASTRUCTURE UPDATE (July 2, 2009)
Below is a summary of activities, and not to be considered all inclusive.

1. ECI has reported that after the first 33 construction days the project is on schedule.
2. No work is scheduled for July 3rd, 4th, or 5th.
3. There will be intermittent water service disruptions along Main St. from Beaver to Railroad.
4. Activities worked this week:

  1. Installed 480′ of 24″ RCP storm pipe, inlet connections and manholes along Main Street to Kiowa.
  2. Installed 530′ of 16″ water main along Main Street to Kiowa, including 1 fire hydrant at Bijou.
  3. Placed seatwalls at the Main/Beaver & Main/Kiowa intersections. (The colors will lighten as it cures)
  4. Passed chlorine, clear water, and pressure test for new 16-inch water main from Platte to Beaver.
  5. Installed water services to new 16-inch water main from Platte to Beaver.
  6. Installed traffic loop south bound Main Street.
  7. Installed pavement from 8th Ave to north of Platte.
  8. Began installation of concrete pavement in Main Street at Platte (north side).

5. Activities Scheduled next week:

  1. Install 24″ storm drain and inlets from Beaver to Kiowa.
  2. Install 8″ water main East & West center of Beaver.
  3. Curb & Gutter east side from Main from Beaver to Kiowa.
  4. Place concrete sidewalk sections at Beaver intersection.
  5. Subgrade prep for flyash Main Street from Platte to Beaver.
  6. Complete Platte intersection concrete paving, 2 lane traffic US 34, encourage alternate routes from Tuesday through Friday.
  7. Chlorine, clear water, and pressure test water main from Beaver to Kiowa.
  8. Water services from Beaver to Kiowa.
  9. Decorative seatwalls installation will continue on east side of Main Street at Beaver and Kiowa.
  10. Signal and pedestrian pole foundations east side Beaver and Kiowa.
  11. Underground electrical from Beaver to Kiowa.
